The Queimadas Forest Park, located in the municipality of Santana, at 900m of altitude allows us to enjoy nature, right in the middle of the Laurissilva Forest, which has some walking routes, dominated by tree species and trees coming from the regions temperate Europe, Asia and America.
Also here is the shelter of Queimadas, a huge building that retains the original features of the old houses of Santana, with thatched roof, used by forest rangers. Here you can also find a small pond with some ducks.
This space is great for a picnic or a walk, as it is a starting point to many points, and enables various walks on foot of unparalleled beauty that lead to different locations on the island, particularly the PR 9 – Caldeirão Verde Levada (Queimadas -Caldeirão Verde- Caldeirão do Inferno) and a Vereda allowing access to Pico das Pedras.
