Description
The peony garden is a Japanese stroll-type garden constructed in 1980 to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the foundation of Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine. In this garden there are 1000 peonies of 100 different types planted, which bloom twice a year, in spring from April to May and in winter from beginning of January to the end of February. The spring peonies can be enjoyed until the beginning of May.
