Description
The Common Shelduck (Tadorna tadorna) is a waterfowl species that is common in Eurasia. It resembles a short-necked goose, and has a red bill, pink feet, white body, chestnut band on upper body, and a green head and neck. Its under-wings are almost entirely white. The species is a mostly a resident of western Europe, including Germany, Great Britain and Ireland, and lives mostly in marshes, along lakes, rivers and estuaries. It is seen rarely in the United States and Canada as a presumed 'visitor' from western Europe.
